Leadership means inspiring and connecting people in order to create lasting value for employees, customers, the organization and society. Change begins with leadership: who leads, who is the figure head and who demonstrates exemplary behaviour?
Connection is central to the leadership model
Within leadership connection is one of the core subjects. In order to lead others you first need to know yourself well. That is why connection with yourself is at the heart of our leadership model. An organization’s Top 20 or Top 100 (or more) work through a program together that can consist of modules such as personal vision, sharing life stories, MBTI, 360-degree feedback and working in peer groups.

Next, the other aspects of the leadership model will be worked through: how you develop a personal vision, how you connect people and how you ensure that implementation is anchored. For example, we organize ‘Be Amazed’ sessions: observe what happens on the work floor and be amazed about the way of working. Why do we do it that way? The assumption is that if you cannot be amazed, you also cannot change. Another example is ‘Fly on the Wall’ sessions: you then see how leadership is carried out in other organizations.
In our leadership programs we spend a lot of time on experience because ‘seeing’ and ‘feeling’ are just as important for change as ‘reason’. The art is to combine the two.
First who, then what
Another reason why connection is a central theme in leadership is that we always start with the people in an organization. In each extensive change process, but also in each sub-project, &samhoud uses the adage: First who, then what! In other words, you always first gather the right people around you and forge a winning team. That paves the way for successful continuation.
